The daughter of famed Orchestra Leader Henry King, Connie comes by her artistic talents honestly. Her prowess in the arts emerged early and was nurtured through fine arts studies at The University of Colored, The Art School and The Otis-Parsons Art Institute in Los Angeles. Her obvious talents were recognized while she was still a student and in no time her works were being exhibited nationally internationally.
A prolific artist, Connie King works daily in her Irvine studio, inspired by the variety and vitality of the Southern California scene. Like her work, the artist enjoys the full spectrum that the lifestyle has to offer. So, you are as likely to find her sketching on the beach, on board a yacht or in a corner of a crowded jazz club, as at her easel. It is little wonder then, that her work appeals to such a diverse audience.
Other personalities who prize Connie's work in their private collections are:
Dr. Peyton Barnes Vikki Carr
General Maurice Hirsch Virginia Graham
Mrs. Walter O'Malley Clyde Tolson
The Jack Linkletters Jerry Goldsmith
Mr. and Mrs. Glen McCarthy
Mr. and Mrs. Wesley West
King's works are also in the corporate collections of:
McDonnell Douglass Corporation
The Hyatt Grand Champion Resort
The Ritz Carlton Hotel

Bright, buoyant and beautiful, Connie King allows much of her personality to spill readily into the fiber of her work. Her paintings come alive with the same sort of inner glow their creator carries over into her daily life. And, the artist unabashedly admits that many of the children she has painted were inspired by her own and many of the scenes she has created are snipped from the tapestry of her personal adventures.
An ardent traveler and aficionado of the performing arts, King's work may reflect her feelings about her latest trip- to Monet's garden or a favorite Portuguese fishing village-- or the emotion felt at Michael Crawford's performance of Phantom of the Opera, which she has seen repeatedly.
With a passion found only in the truly dedicated artist, King is as devoted to the perfection of her lithographs and serigraphs as she is to her original works of art. She leaves nothing to chance. She feels those who buy her reproductions and greeting cards are equally as entitled to the very best she can offer as those who purchase her originals.
